As a result of conditions and events that have hitherto occurred in the town of Estancia and the community of the same, men have seen the necessity of bringing themselves together for the purpose of effecting a movement and thus promoting a progressive and constructive program for community welfare.

As a result of these gatherings, we have been called together for the purpose of organizing a federated welfare brotherhood by subscribing and placing our names as an endorsement to the following Declaration of Principles:

First – We stand for, and believe in a strict law enforcement, relative to the prohibition, gambling and criminal laws and our town ordinances, and we heartily endorse the noble work and services rendered the county of Torrance and the community of Estancia by our honorable sheriff.

Second – We believe that when a man goes before a court for justice that he is entitled to a hearing before and honest, rational, and intelligent jury, and we furthermore insist and appeal to every loyal American citizen to fulfill his obligation as a citizen when he is called upon to serve in the capacity of administering justice.

Third – We believe in a community that is not only safe for our own boys and girls to be reared in from a moral standpoint, but one that will attract the homeseeker with a family and not cause him to fear our moral integrity and thus stay away feeling it not safe for his children.

Fourth – We approve of healthy and wholesome entertainments, such as the Chautauqua, Lyceum Course, school socials and school athletics as now conducted and any other similar nature, and are against any social, entertainment or institution that has or shows a taint of immoral influence.

Fifth – We endorse a progressive program for the adolescent boys and girls of our community such as outlined and conducted by the Boy Scouts of America and the Camp Fire Girls.

Sixth – We believe that one of the greatest assets to any town or community is her educational and school systems, therefore we put ourselves behind our school and shall always work for the promotion of the best interest of same.

Seventh – Realizing that poverty should be reduced to a minimum because of the many evils that come from such, we believe that cases of charity should be under the administration of the community as a whole, therefore promising our support to a community philanthropic welfare work.

Eighth – We stand foursquare for the church and her principles, believing that the teachings of Christ were and are the epitome of all the social fundamentals of government, state, and community. We bespeak the doctrine that no man is a real man who does not adhere to the deeper things of his moral and religious nature; therefore, we encourage the constructive spiritual forces of our town and community.

Ninth – In conclusion we urge an organization that will incorporate all the above-named principles and shall put into operation such principles in the town of Estancia and surrounding community.

The above text is an abridged version of an article appearing in the last issue of the Estancia News-Herald on December 29, 1921. The current conditions of our community once again have caused good men and women of every faith to come together for the purpose of presenting a united front against the moral decay threatening our liberty. Our mainstream and local media have inverted reality, gaslighting the masses and bullying the majority into submitting to the will of the minority. It is the same media which call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

The last known edition of the Estancia News-Herald was headlined by a declaration still applicable to our day.

Evil cannot be appeased. Once given a foothold, it reaches for a stranglehold. It wants our attention, then our freedom, and ultimately our lives. Above all, it wants our children. For this reason, we must set aside our differences, our distractions, and our personal ambitions. Our common adversary is THE Adversary. The father of contention would that we were divided along lines of race, religion, political party, and socio-economic class.

The conflict at hand is not with each other, but we are in a battle between good and evil. Those in support of that evil want us alone, fearful, dependent, and enslaved by debt and vice. They want us to feel hostility towards and victimized by our neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and family members. Their biggest fear is us united.

The founders of our republic hailed from different backgrounds and religions. Notwithstanding their differences, they each shared the conviction they were endowed by their creator with the same unalienable rights possessed by others. Plainly stated, we derive our rights from God, not from government. Just as the people of the Town of Estancia sought to protect their community by aligning to the same set of guiding principles in the last edition of the Estancia News of their generation, let us align ourselves to the same set of principles to this first edition of the Estancia News in our generation.
